This course is broken into two 8 hour sections and is geared for Site Supervisors, Site Managers, and Area Managers.
Classes consist of approximately 6.5 hours of hands-on training PER DAY.
Training can take place at LEPC fire training grounds, warehouses, or at a plant.
This course covers information on confined space, LOTO, elevated work, ladder safety, HAZCOM, hose and chemical handling, PPE, fogging, industrial hygiene, managing injuries/emergencies, incident investigation etc., how these topics specifically pertain to the sanitation industry, and how to manage and follow these different regulations based on the tasks required to perform sanitation in the food industry.
This class covers frequent opportunities and challenges identified throughout years spent auditing and training sanitation on site during 2nd and 3rd shifts, as well as recommendations for how to eliminate/fix those opportunities and challenges.
COMPANY/LOCATION NEEDS TO BE PREPARED FOR TRAINING:
Confined Space assessments and a blank permit
LOTO procedures and Locks for each person
All Required PPE to perform sanitation tasks for each person (raingear, goggles, boots, hard hats, gloves, sleeves, ear plugs etc)
Tripod and winch systems or davit systems (whatever locations are using for confined space entries)
Sanitation buckets, jugs and tubs
Multi-gas meters currently calibrated and available for use.
Incident investigation forms
A room to sit down and have classroom discussion
Large open area to perform drills throughout each day
Confined space on site available for entry and drills
