For all procedure writing courses, the facility will need:

Someone available to walk with Allen Safety that is knowledgeable about the current equipment, energy source configurations/locations, and any existing procedures.

This person may be different for each department or each part of the location.
This person may be different each day for scheduling.

Confined Space Assessments

The Assessments will include:

Determination if it is a permit required confined space.
Hazards of the space.
Elimination of hazards and/or control measures.
Entry Procedures.
Attendant Procedures.
Supervisor Procedures.
Rescue (Entry and Non-Entry) Procedures.
PPE (for entrants, attendants, and rescue).
Equipment needed for entry and rescue.
Details on Space opening and interior configurations.
Special Considerations.

The assessments would be performed by Allen Safety and then the completed assessment forms will be sent to you digitally, with the option to purchase a printed binder with assessment forms in clear protective sheets, organized by area.

LOTO Machine Specific Procedures

Each procedure will include:

A list of all energy sources.
Detailed location of where to apply locks.

Provided that buckets, disconnects, toggle switches etc are accessible and labeled, or maintenance personnel are available to show which specific switch feeds the equipment.

How and where to verify power and execute the “try” step.
A listing of all procedures required throughout the LOTO process (notify, apply locks, remove guards etc).
Any special considerations or special procedures will be added to the procedures as they apply for each piece of equipment as your team makes us aware of them during our interviews.

Ex: if ammonia is not pumped out or any special timelines to let ammonia systems drain, sanitation procedures, troubleshooting procedures etc that may deviate from the standard LOTO procedure, and where guarding by distance may be utilized.

If trained personnel must perform “try” steps for power verification – and – what PPE they may be required to use.

The information for the procedures will be gathered by Allen Safety, and completed off site.

Completed procedures will be sent to you digitally.
