Audits

Do your audits always feel like a battle?

Let us reframe what an audit can be for you and your team.

We heavily encourage management participation beyond safety managers to take part in the audit to allow them to take advantage of the training aspect. Ex: Production & Maintenance Supervisors, Operations Managers, Engineering, Process Safety Management, Food Safety, Safety, Environmental, Sanitation, General Manager.

The audit will be customized to cover:

  • General Industry OSHA.
  • Generally accepted best industry practices.
  • Compliance with any government agreements.
  • Events/near misses in industry or your sister facilities.
  • Your company’s programs and policies.
  • Behavior-based safety.
  • Risk analysis and identification.
  • The audit will take 8-10 hours per day and will be held on all shifts that sanitation employees are working.
  • We heavily encourage a daily recap meeting with your management team to discuss opportunities and potential solutions for any highly hazardous situations identified that may require an immediate temporary or permanent solution.
  • Snacks will be provided each day for audit participants and managers.
  • Brief employee interviews will be held in a non-disruptive manner on the floors and conducted throughout the audit.
  • The audit style will be a training style audit.
  • Teams will return to office areas to review paperwork during USDA preop.
  • There is not an additional charge for writing the audit (including opportunities, recommendations, and priority coding) after the audit closing. This is estimated to take approximately 5 days after the audit closing to complete.

At Allen Safety, we believe audits can be more than an evaluation of paperwork compliance from an office.  To us, audits should be a positive experience and used as a training tool for your team, helping them improve safety long after the audit has been completed.  We don’t believe that safety can be effectively evaluated from an office on first shift.

That’s why we cover all shifts employees work, with 80% of our time is spent in the field taking each opportunity identified to educate your staff on the spot.  This approach allows us to develop custom solutions that fit your industry, location, and staffing that won’t cost you a fortune to implement.
